Field Service Technician

Mission Statement
Field Service Technician responsibilities consist of installing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing wiring and security related equipment and associate networking, server and storage devices. The position consists of ensuring that work is in accordance with relevant codes and performed in a high-quality workmanlike manner.

Responsibilities
1.    Diagnose and repair malfunctioning devices or wiring in CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion and Network communication systems.
2.    Perform installation and configuration of video management and access control system software on servers, workstation and controller panels.  
3.    Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power drills/saws, measuring devices and conduit bending equipment.
4.    Use testing equipment including, multi-meters, TDR units, cable certification testers and portable video testers.
5.    Install new analog or IP CCTV cameras, power supplies, DVR/NVRs, routers, switches, servers, wireless systems, access control panels and equipment cabinets.
6.    Install and terminate: Cat5e/6 wiring, RG59/6/Siamese wiring, 18-2/18-4 power or signal wiring, Fiber optic cabling.
7.    Install EMT, GRC, Seal-Tite, Kindorf, Wire-molding, Panduit.

Desired Experience, Skills, Abilities and Credentials
1.    Licensed Fire-Burglary alarm system installer, locksmith or licensed Electrician.
2.    Associates Degree in an Electrical Trade program, or equivalent experience.
3.    Possess or be willing to obtain Manufacturer certifications including:  Genetec, Milestone, Lenel, Software House, S2, Honeywell, Keri Systems.
a.    Additional consideration for Lenel, Genetec and CCURE active certifications.
4.    Ability to perform basic Ohm’s law calculations, read electrical schematics/construction wiring diagrams, understand and ensure compliance with Fire, Building and Local codes.
5.    Possess or be willing to obtain Industry certifications including: NICET Fire Protection and/or Security Systems, BISCI Installer/Technician, OSHA-10, OSHA-30.
6.    Experience installing/servicing products from HID, Magnalock, Rutherford, Schlage, Securitron, Corbin Russwin, Von Duprin, Altronix, Boon Edam, Orion, Gunnebo, Door King, 3M.
7.    Familiarity with basic Local Area Network devices including routers, switches, and access points.
8.    Familiarity with Microsoft Windows OS installation, performing Windows Updates, Configuring TCP/IP settings.
9.    Ability work both collaboratively and unsupervised.  
10.    Ability to meet deadlines which may include evening or weekend work when required by the business.
11.    Ability to cover “On-Call” shifts on a rotating schedule.
12.    Must hold valid Driver’s License.
13.    Must possess dexterity and ability to safely lift packages up to fifty (50) pounds unassisted.

Systems Engineer

Systems Engineer
Mission Statement
The Systems Engineer role is primarily a post-sales function implementing solutions purchased by a client.  The Systems Engineer applies industry best practices, knowledge, skills and experience to configure and install network and server technology to satisfy project design requirements and specifications.  The Engineer may need to export information from legacy applications, normalize the data and import the information to a new system.  Installation may include the physical racking and configuration of servers, storage arrays, switches or similar devices in to data cabinets or racks and may also include the alignment and calibration of point to point wireless equipment on rooftops or similar locations.

Responsibilities
1.    Integrate networking infrastructure in a multivendor environment.
a.    Including subnet calculations, IP address planning, routing, WAN communications, physical layer cable plant design and interoperability with existing systems.
2.    Configure and install network switches, routers and firewalls at client locations.
a.    Including ability to identify, locate, obtain and apply firmware updates.
3.    Configure and install servers and direct or network attached storage systems at client locations.
a.    Including ability to identify, locate, obtain and apply BIOS, UEFI, Firmware and OS patches and updates.
4.    Configure and install wireless point-to-point, point-to-multipoint or access point field devices at client locations.
5.    Configure Video Management Server and Access Control Server application platforms.
6.    Troubleshoot general network or application fault symptoms to specific root causes and perform corrective actions.
7.    Train end users on the proper operation and maintenance of hardware and software.
8.    Maintain professional and technical knowledge by keeping certifications current, participating in professional societies and mentoring programs (both giving and receiving).

Desired Experience, Skills, Abilities and Credentials
1.    Expert with the TCP/IP protocol suite, Local Area and Wide Area Network systems and concepts.
a.    Cisco CCNA or five years equivalent experience.
2.    Experience with network optimization and security with emphasis on voice and video traffic.
3.    Industry certifications including: NICET Fire Protection and/or Security Systems, CCNA, CCNP Data Center.  Licensed Fire-Burglary alarm system installer, Wireshark, Juniper, CEH, CISSP, CISM, MCSE.
4.    Manufacturer certifications including:  Genetec, Milestone, Lenel, Software House, S2, Honeywell, DMP, Bosch, Sony, Axis, Keri Systems, Kantech, Exacq, Ubiquiti, Proxim, Firetide, AIPhone, Amag, Commend, HID.
5.    Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint and Visio.
6.    Experience with Databases, SQL, data normalization and import for differing systems, server virtualization, Cloud.
7.    Expert with security Video Management Systems and Access Control Systems.
8.    Expert with analog & IP video cameras, access control panels, card readers, request to exit devices, door position sensors and electrified strikes or maglocks.
9.    Understanding of scripting languages, IIS, SMTP and SNMP.
10.    Bachelor of Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
11.    Ability to solve complex problems and troubleshoot a general symptom to a specific root cause.
12.    Ability work collaboratively and unsupervised.  
13.    Ability to meet deadlines which may include evening or weekend work when required by the business.

Job Description
The Pre-sales Engineer applies processes, knowledge, skills and experience to design physical security solutions to satisfy client security objectives.  The Engineer may assist the Sales organization or may engage directly with the client sponsor to understand client objectives and identify the products and services SW24 provides to satisfy these needs.  The Engineer will perform an assessment either by inspecting a facility or by reference to construction drawings and specifications.  The Engineer will design a solution that satisfies the Design Requirements, Specifications and customer objectives including product selection and pricing, external labor solicitation and internal resource effort estimating.  

Responsibilities
1.    Identify and understand client security objectives.
a.    Meet with client security resources, executives and SW24 Sales resources.  
2.    Perform assessment
a.    Walk through client facilities, identify device locations, telecommunication spaces, document building construction/field conditions and discuss hazardous materials.
b.    Assess RFP/Bid documentation, Design Requirements, Construction Specifications, NFPA/Other code compliance, perform Take-Off counts, and issue RFI’s.
3.    Design solution
a.    Apply knowledge, skills and experience to design security solutions from the products and services SW24 provides to satisfy client security objectives.
b.    Interface with CM firms, A&E firms, client stakeholders, AHJ’s and SW24 Sales resources throughout the design process.
4.    Create proposal
a.    Provide complete and correct Bills of Materials.  Estimate resource skill levels, levels of effort and activity durations.  Source trade labor resources such as locksmiths and electricians.  Perform electrical load calculations, heat-rejection calculations and space planning.
b.    Assist Sales with identifying appropriate Assumptions, Exclusions, Pre-Requisites and Client Required Activities.
c.    Create or assist with creation of proposal including scope, schedule, pricing, assumptions and exclusions.

Desired Experience, Skills, Abilities and Credentials
1.    Industry certifications including: NICET Fire Protection and/or Security Systems, ASIS PSP and/or CPP, BICSI RCDD and/or RTPM, OSHA-30, CSI Document Technologist and/or Construction Administrator.  Licensed Fire-Burglary alarm system installer.
2.    Manufacturer certifications including:  Genetec, Milestone, Lenel, Software House, S2, Honeywell, DMP, Bosch, Sony, Axis, Keri Systems, Kantech, Exacq, Ubiquiti, Proxim, Firetide, Aiphone, Amag, Commend, HID.
